Northamptonshire Police have a new initiative called Street Watch, which enables local people to take an active role in keeping their community safe by patrolling their neighbourhood as part of an organised scheme, identifying potential issues, and engaging with local residents encouraging them to report things like antisocial behaviour, vandalism, and suspicious behaviour to the police.
The scheme is based on a simple idea. It’s about going for a walk with your neighbours, being a visible presence to help deter crime and antisocial behaviour, and building a greater sense of community spirit.
The Parish Council could support such a scheme being established in the Parish and so would like to hear from any residents who are interested in volunteering – please contact the Parish Clerk on clerk@oldstratfordparishcouncil.gov.uk
